Foreninge af Danske Varmforzinkere (FDV) har eksisteret siden 1955. I 2005 blev foreningen medlem af den nordiske brancheorganisation, Nordic Galvanizers, hvorfra alle nummererede virksomheder drives.
Nordic Galvanizers er en sammenslutning af nordiske varmforzinkningsvirksomheder. Foreningens formål er at fremme varmforzinkningens tekniske udvikling, samt medvirke til øget anvendelse af varmforzinket stål.
Nordic Galvanizers udfører forskning og udvikling, arbejder med miljøspørgsmål og uddannelse, samt overvåger branchen internationalt.
Nordic Galvanizers virker også som databank, hvor alle med spørgsmål indenfor området er velkommen til at henvende sig.

1700 | The use of hot dip galvanized sausepans started in France. |
1800 | In England hot dip galvanized sheets are used in ship building and for roofs. Hot dip galvanized nails are introduced at the market. |
1837 | The modern hot dip galvanizing technique was born when a Frenchman, Sorel, introduced pickling with sulphuric acid as a pre-treatment step. He subsequently applied for his first patent on hot-dip galvanizing on 10th May 1837. The main part of the process that Sorel sought to patent is still used today. |
1870 | The first nordic galvanizing plants started in Sikeå and Karlskrona. |
1895 | Stockholm Galvanizing plant started. |
1930 | Bablik wrote the first handbook in galvanizing, called “The bible of galvanizing” |
1950 | Nordic Galvanizers Association was established by Danmark, Finland, Norge and Sverige. |
1970 | Cooperation with the zinc producers started. |
